The Graduate School at SIU offers master’s degrees in over 70 programs and the doctoral degree in over 30 programs. Within these departments, our distinguished faculty offer inspired teaching and conduct innovative research to ensure our students have everything they need to make their college experience challenging and rewarding. Through faculty, staff, and students the Graduate School makes its contribution to the public welfare of the region, state, nation, and international community. The Graduate School has approximately 4,000 students from throughout the United States and over 90 countries, and is home to 50 Fulbright students. The Graduate School administers programs in the colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Applied Sciences and Arts, Business, Education and Human Services, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Mass Communication and Media Arts, Science, School of Law, and the School of Medicine.
The Graduate School has earned national recognition for its programs in U.S. News & World Report’s “2016 Best Graduate Schools” guide. The College of Education and Human Services moved up to 59th and has been ranked in the top 85 for several years. Also for the third consecutive year the graduate Rehabilitation Counseling program is ranked fourth in the nation. U.S. News also recognized SIU’s online MBA program at number 36 among its “Best Online Graduate Business Programs.”

Graduate Student Education Support Fund: The purpose is to support graduate students including student travel to conferences, research expenses, expenses associated with dissertation and publication expenses.
Graduate Student Internship Support Fund: Supports graduate students who are participating in unpaid/low paying internships. Preference will be given to students participating in international internships and internships focused on energy, environment, diversity issues, poverty, and sustainable agriculture & food systems.
Graduate School Activities Fund: Funds are used for the support and development of the Graduate School at SIU.
Graduate Student Supplemental Fund: The purpose is to provide additional support to graduate students having a need for supplemental financial assistance to cover unexpected costs, such as fees, books and other expenses related to their academic study.
Graduate Student Emergency Fund: This fund supports the study and research of international graduate students in providing assistance with their emergency needs when the sources of their family income have been destroyed by natural disaster or other major adverse event beyond the students' control.
