The College of Engineering holds fast to a unique tradition of access and opportunity, inclusive excellence, and top-tier research, encouraging creativity within a climate of outstanding student success-focused teaching.  The college creates and shares knowledge aimed at shaping future leaders, improving communities and transforming lives. There are numerous opportunities for students to participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom including research, design competitions, service-oriented projects and leadership development activities.  The departments of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Technology, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Energy Processes, Mining & Mineral Resources Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Engineering Science are housed within this college.

Engineering Scholarship Fund: Funds raised are used to provide scholarships for students in the College of Engineering.  

Engineering Excellence Fund: Funds raised are used to support Engineering and Technology in the college. 

Success in Engineering Through Excellence and Diversity (SEED) Fund: Funds raised support the operation of the Minority Engineering Program in the College of Engineering.

National Student Steel Bridge Competition:  SIUC is proud to host the 2019 Student Steel Bridge Competition (SSBC) National Finals, a conference involving the nation's top Civil Engineering programs.

Leadership Development Program:  Members of the Leadership Development Program (LDP) are expected to participate and lead various activities throughout their time at SIU.  Fund raised support these student activities.

The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is designed to educate the next generation of technical leaders for the world’s future through leadership training, mentoring and community service opportunities. We are one of very few STEM colleges in the nation that offers a technical leadership program that provides a direct bridge from leadership training to a career as a technical leader. SIU alum Dick Blaudow ’70 is encouraging all LDP alumni to make a donation to the Leadership Development Program by matching dollar for dollar up to $10,000.
