SIU Alumni Association
Forward Together

As the largest and oldest organization on campus, the SIU Alumni Association has been proudly serving SIU alumni and friends since 1896. It seeks to engage alumni, students and friends of the university by preserving SIU traditions, promoting pride in a SIU education, and facilitating opportunities for students and alumni to connect professionally. Today, the Association has continued to grow and serves as a connection between many alumni, as well as family and friends of the university.  The Association plays a major role in key university functions and works closely with various campus departments on events and programs that support the institution’s mission. Please see our funding priorities below and click Give Now at the top of the page to make your gift.

Saluki Alumni Plaza

Saluki Alumni Plaza is a new focal point for students and alumni on the Carbondale campus. Located between Pulliam and Woody halls, the plaza centers on sculptures of three Saluki dogs.  The statues represent past, present, and future students, and it’s a great meetup place on campus.  This is a prime opportunity for alumni to put their stamp on something physical on the campus.   The plaza can be a symbol of the success many graduates of SIU have experienced because of the education they received here, and it’s something future students will be able to enjoy for the next 150 years of this university.

Day of Giving – Chapter Scholarships

The SIU Alumni Association is focusing on raising gifts for regional chapter scholarship funds. Each year, this money helps students throughout Illinois and the greater St. Louis metro region begin or continue their education at SIU Carbondale.

Giving to these chapter scholarship funds is a great way to ensure future Salukis have an opportunity to succeed. The Association is offering two $500 prizes for this project – one to the chapter that raises the most money and one to the chapter with the most individuals who make a donation. Prize money can be used toward a future alumni networking event in support of SIU.

Donate now during the Day of Giving and help boost opportunity for countless future alumni.  Alumni chapters that are participating are:
