Senator Paul Simon founded the Public Policy Institute at Southern Illinois University a quarter century ago to promote constructive public policies and civil discourse and to encourage students to consider careers in public service. In our silver anniversary year, the Institute is focusing on building a stronger Illinois.
Our Illinois programs work to address the state’s fiscal hardships, partisan struggles and demographic changes while celebrating its rich history, diverse culture and visionary leaders.
On SIU Day, your gift to the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute helps fund these programs:
Renewing Illinois Summit: Bringing college students together to revitalize the Prairie State
Public Affairs Internships: Practical public affairs experience for future public service leaders
Future of Illinois Project: Peering over the horizon to assess fundamental challenges facing Illinois
Congressional Conversations: Discussing critical issues with Illinois’ congressional delegation
Illinois Authors: Meeting the writers who bring the Prairie State to life
Meet the Mayor: Getting to know Illinois’ municipal leaders
Simon-Edgar Statesmanship Award: Celebrating courage and vision in Illinois government
Illinois 101: State leaders’ must-reads for a deeper understanding of Illinois history and culture
Thank you for joining us as we work to build a stronger Illinois.
