SIU Alumni Association
Forward Together

The SIU Alumni Association, established in 1896, is the largest and oldest university-related organization at SIU Carbondale. Today, it serves as a gateway available to roughly 250,000 alumni seeking to reconnect and get involved with their alma mater. The organization is also a frequent partner to various other campus departments, including the Office of the Chancellor and Office of Admissions. Each year, the Association awards numerous scholarships to students, as well as supports programs that develop student leadership and volunteerism via the Student Alumni Council.

Day of Giving – Regional Scholarships

The Association raises money for gifts going to prospective students throughout the region and Illinois via the efforts of its regional alumni groups.

Giving to these funds is an excellent way to ensure future Salukis in your neighborhood have the opportunity to succeed at SIU Carbondale. The Association is offering two $500 prizes for this project – one to the alumni group that raises the most money and one to the group with the highest number of donations made. Prize money can be used toward a future alumni networking event.

Donate now during the Day of Giving and help boost opportunity for countless future alumni. Participating groups are:

  • Chicagoland Chapter Scholarship
  • Jackson County Chapter Scholarship
  • Legacy Scholarship
  • Prairie Capital Chapter Scholarship
  • St. Louis Chapter Scholarship
  • Saline County Group
  • Support Black Undergraduate Education Endowed Scholarship Fund
  • Union County Chapter Scholarship
  • Williamson County Chapter Scholarship

Guida-Moller Family Alumni Center

In October of 2021, the alumni center located in a portion of Woody Hall became the Guida-Moller Family Alumni Center, named for Julie Guida and her brother, Scott Moller, both long-time champions of SIU Carbondale. With an endowed $500,000 gift to the Association, the center now carries their namesake. There are further naming opportunities within the alumni center, offering new opportunities for alumni to mark their legacies as Salukis while ensuring long-term support for the SIU Alumni Association. For more information about these opportunities, please contact the Association at (618) 453-2408.
